A Proposal of the Ossing Traditional Council (OTC) and the Ossing Development and Cultural Association (ODCA).

This piece is intended to clarify the situation between the Ossing Traditional Council and the Ossing Development and Cultural Association. First, the Ossing Traditional Council (OTC) created the Ossing Development and Cultural Association to serve as its development arm. It is the OTC which enunciates development policies and priorities which are executed by ODCA groups worldwide. ODCA groups also cater to the specific needs of their members and, as such, there can be slight differences in the various chapter bylaws. As of October 2024, there are three ODCA groups worldwide: ODCA national in Cameroon, ODCA UK, and ODCA North America and Canada.

 Each of the ODCA groups is headed by a president and an exco who run the association. They are all answerable to the Chief of Ossing, who is the chairperson of the Traditional Council. The Ossing Traditional Council has three patrons. The chief of Ossing is the first patron of ODCA. For now, the other two patrons are Dr. Daniel Enow Besong and Chief Justice, Florence Rita Arrey. The beneficiaries of all development initiatives are the people of Ossing, and projects are selected after a needs assessment has been carried out. This is so because people who have no clear knowledge of the situation in the village may focus on issues which are not the main concern of the villagers at a given time.
